The majority of residents in Lake Keowee are educated at the School District of Oconee County. This public school district operates 16 schools throughout the area. Many of the students around the lake attend schools located within Seneca. Students in kindergarten through 5th grade attend Blue Ridge Elementary School (995 South Oak Street), Keowee Elementary School (7051 Keowee School Road),  Northside Elementary School (710 North Townville Street), or Ravenal Elementary School (150 Ravenel School Road). Students in grades 6th through 8th attend Seneca Middle School (810 West South 4th Street) and students in 9th through 12th attend Seneca High School (100 Bobcat Ridge). These schools provide excellent academic, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities for their students.

There are several excellent medical facilities located in nearby Seneca for residents of Lake Keowee to utilize. Oconee Medical Campus (298 Memorial Drive) provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care as well as emergency medical services if needed.


Lake Keowee is surrounded by many highways and routes, providing residents with easy access to the transportation network in the region. The main roadways include US Route 123 and South Carolina Highways 130, 183, and 188. Anyone needing to travel beyond South Carolina can take a short drive to Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport (2000 GSP Drive, Greer) in order to reach their destination.
